Sleeping with my snake!!

Bug22baby

Snakes and more Snakes
Well It finally happened, I always read the stories of when people loose thier snakes. So I have two hatchlings on top my rack right now with tops clipped down. Well I must not have clipped it right for 5am dismorning I woke up feeling something touching my leg. So I grabbed it and it was my 2 month old Amel hatchling Spice!!! Must of been looking for a warm place to sleep!! I still dont know how it got to my bed and not to my siberian husky's mouth on the floor! Needless to say Spice is now sleeping in his own yougurt cup now re clipped and extra books placed on top for security!! Now I know that the dreams of catching my snakes in bed with me were for a reason... They really came true!!

hahahaha... Should of saw the Boyfriends face at 5am when I caught the snake in bed .. That was a classic!

hahahaha thats wicked you were lucky you found it then im still looking for mine :(. what are the odds of waking up next to a snake though.

I once woke up with an anaconda!

Back in the '70s (when we were young and not as careful!), we lived in a mobile home and had a giant cage in the living room. It contained several pythons and boas (and one 8 or 9' anaconda). One morning, my husband got up early to ship one of them off on breeding loan. I woke up with a start a couple of hours later as something cold and long crawled next to my back. Half asleep, I reached back behind me and instantly awakened as I touched a snake. My very first thought was - "Thank God it is much too big to be my 5' cobra!!" So I woke up a put her away - no problem except for the first few seconds of wondering what it might be! (I have NEVER had a venomous snake escape, in case you are wondering! But there could always be a first time, I guess).

No Thanx on a Anaconda!!! Ill stick with my little snakes lol

It was a strange thing though waking up with the snake. I use to have dreams if I got one out before bed. Where I would wake up thinking they got loose in my bed and I would wake up catching myself searching for them under the sheets. So when I found the snake I thought it was a mistake, until I actully touched the thing then I was nervous about what was in fact in my hand until I turned the light on saw it was one of the babies and found the empty tub!! And incase you havent noticed by now I have 13 snakes in my bedroom lol ... Just thankful it was one of the babies and not my ball python who is right next to my bed lol.

We have...

My boyfriend and I have all of ours except one in the bedroom with us. We only have one escape artist, and I think we've finally found a way to keep him in his OWN tank... "knock on wood". So I think we've got about 23 snakes in our room. LOL. Most people think we're crazy...I'd only say we were crazy if we had dangerous snakes in there with us!!!

yeah waking up to anysnake would crap me up but a venimous one would kill me even if the snake didnt bite me :sidestep:

sometimes i do wish that i could wake up to a snake though as in a waking up to a hole room of corn snakes that would rock. a dream come true.

Back when I only had 20 some snakes, it was feeding day and I was just about finished. I had my female Miami in my hands and i turned around and saw my male creamsicle moving along the wall from under my bed. I quickly put the miami away and grabbed the cream. I asked him how he got out, but he plead the fifth so I took him to his tank and saw that I hadn't even put the top back on after feeding him. I attributed this absent-mindedness to having to feed 20 snakes. Ahhh the good ol' days when I only had 20 snakes to feed in a day.
