Scream Into The Wind
I've noticed reading a lot of you always feed your snake in a different container than where they live. Is that something I should be doing?

Right now I just stick the pinky in the aqaurium on a little dish. . .

The main thing is to ensure the snake is not swallowing any substrate when he/she eats. There are times I have just put their meal on a little dish in their enclosure but most the time I feed them in seperate containers. This gives me time to look them over and make sure they are doing good.

If they are on paper towel I feed in the cage, but all the ones on aspen I feed outside in a feeding tub to avoid any ingestion of the aspen

Welcome to the site! :) I too feed in the cage if they are on paper towels or in a separate container if the have aspen as substrate!

I have Care Fresh as a substrate only in the large hide box. Papertowels in the rest of the tank. I'm hoping this is good preventative mesures for avoiding possible substrate ingestion.

I feed mine, Separetly of course, in a shoe box, I always watch, so there is no need to put the lid on, I am right there, and with the mouse in there, the snakes aren't even close to being focused on getting out.
