Hey guys, I didn't ever imagine having to say this, but my ball python just bit me. She was over her water bowl, so I was getting her new water, and when I reached for her water bowl she just kind of nicked me. Tiny tiny bite, had less than a drop of blood, extrreamly extreamly little nip. I kind of think it was a little nip saying lol I need to paymore attention or somehting? Lol. After time you just kind of dont expect anything you know? Whyu do you guys think she did it? I cant even explain how small of a little nip it was though..

Yeah I know lol. That was just my first one I ever got, just tellin you guys about it I guess ha. It kind of scared the piss outa me lol, I wasn't expecting it ;)

Sometimes they can really surprise you! Even a little baby can give me a heart attack if I'm not expecting it.

Haha yeah, I knew it would come someday, but your just never ready for it you know? Lol. She is a sweetheart though!

Lol, I remember when I was feeding my corn snake a pinkie with the long tweezers, she struck at the pinkie and I don't know why but I jumped like a little girl...

I'm afraid of my corns biting me but when my Amazon Tree Boa tries to get me, I'm not as afraid. Of course, so far I've been quicker than her (knock on Macbook). With some of my "meaner" corns, my palms get all sweaty and I have to tell myself to calm down. With the ATB, it's just a "okay, she's likes to bite but grab her anyway" type thing.

I am ready for my first bite I want it over with!!!!! lol

I know what you mean lol

I understand though heatfreakk3, you get use to them being so mellow, so you just plop your hand in there right by them and it bites you lol... Sometimes i find myself not going as slow as i should, i don't wanna startle the lil guy so i need to pay more attention! lol

Snakes bite, Bees sting etc etc. Maybe it thought your approaching hand was food, My little spider bit me, right above the nail, due to my own stupidity, she was always a little angel and i just dropped my hand in front of her and SNAP! ever since she APPEARS to be shy around me, acting almost as if she's scared that i'm going to hurt her. when i pick her up, she hides her head, as if to say, i can't see you, you can't see me! once she's out shes back to her sweet little self, for some reason, when shes about to move to a new area, she looks up at me, as if to say, "I 'esplore?!" and then she goes, it's really cute. i don't know why she does it. I wouldn't trade her for the world :)

Due to being bitten so many times by certain snakes I expect it from them. Rarely do those snakes not bite me. It still makes me jump with my littlest corn snake strikes at me (it's not very often). Kind of gives me a rush and makes me giggle for the fact such a tiny baby made my heart race a little.

The only snake bites that scare me now is when they get the end of a finger and start swallowing! I know once they get to the knuckle they can't go any further. But it's like, then what? Will the snake barf my finger back out on it's own or do it try to force it out? Will I hurt my vicious snake? That's why we start the struggle early on and have never gotten past the second finger joint from the tip.... so far :|

It's kind of weird that I'm never really worried about them hurting me, but of me hurting them.

My ball python bit me once--it was totally my fault, too. I was feeding him a mouse from the tongs, and it fell. I went to pick it up with the tongs again, and my hand got too close to him--BAM, he struck me, but only nipped the side of my finger. Didn't hurt at all. :D
My sister has also been bitten by one of our BP's and she said it hurt way less than a cat scratch.
They bite sometimes, just like dogs do, and cats scratch, and birds bite, and horses bite...You get it. :)

snake bites are nuttin but a good way to bond with your pet.
