Snake Hook, Handling "techniques"

So I don't whether to call my albino, agressive or just plain nervous, I've had it for about a month or two now, fed it well, had it escape once, but found it in the bath (no clue how it got in there)

Yet all the times I've tried to pick it up (not going from above, more of the scoop from under) it just lunges at me like it's gonna bite me, yes I pet it around the back away from the head to let it know I'm there

Spite of all this, it caused me to buy a snake hook, any suggestions with using it? Or should I just give up

How old is this snake?

I think most of mine would bite if I petted them along their body, while still in the viv.

If it's a young snake, just put your hand down flat on it, covering the head, and scoop it out, then handle for 30-60 minutes every evening. You don't have to do anything with him, just hold him.

If it's an adult, I use the hook to pick up the front quarter, and my hand to hold the last quarter, to get him out. If I'm going to feed, I continue to use the hook until the snake is in the feeding bin. If I'm just avoiding a hunger bite while getting the snake out, after it's out, I stop using the hook, because it's during removal that the snake is most likely to get defensive or scared, and bite. Mine just bite because they are hoping I might be food.

I'm gonna guess it's about...

3-4 years old by now? Around that, maybe 5 years probably 3-4 though.

Also completely covering the head? wouldn't that irritate it, and make it aggressive once it's out? I don't want no snake teeth stuck in my skin ;)

That technique doesn't work well for an adult snake. I'd just hook him out by sliding the hook under his front end and lifting, but balance him by holding his last quarter. If he crawls up the hook toward you, you can unhook him (but keep a hold of his tail) and then rehook him more toward his head. Then once he's out and settled, he shouldn't be biting.
