Snake not feeding

Hi, after I got my corns( A 2 day drive) I fed them and they ate easily. But now for the second feed I am having trouble with one snake.

I gave the snake a dead mouse and he refused to eat. 3 Days after that I repeated the process and still no luck. And soon after that I tried A life mouse but they seems to be friend now. lol

ps. On the first mouse I used a nail and hit it through its head. As an attempt to "brain" it.

I forgot to mention that when I gave him the live mouse he rapped himself around it, but it got away and it doesn't look like he tried again.

If he ate fine the first time, he's probably going blue or just not hungry enough. If an adult snake refuses a meal, you need to wait a minimum of a week to offer food again. ten to 14 days sure wouldn't hurt. Is he active, or in hiding?

Do not leave a live mouse unattended with your snake. The mouse can chew the skin off the snake and the snake will let it. If your snake ate frozen/thawed before, there is no reason to go to extremes with braining and feeding live, etc. Just wait. It's spring down there, too, so you may be dealing with a male who is going to go on a springtime hunger strike. This is perfectly normal, causes no harm to the snake, and may last for two or three months. Just continue to offer a hot, thawed mouse ever two weeks until he eats. Maybe offer food to the refusing one first, so if he doesn't eat, you can give it to the other one who does eat.

sorry, I made a mistake..... there was one snake that refuse to eet a dead thing, we was forced to give it a live hamster. (There is no place to get mice in my town.)

And he shedded a fev days before

If he doesn't eat immediately, I would take it out. He isn't going to "get in the mood" later, unless it's days later.

Okay but what should I do next? Because it has been eating live things it whole life, I am not sure what to do next.

Some snakes will switch with no problems. Just thaw the mouse and put it in front of the snake and the snake will eat it.

But if you have a picky snake that likes movement, you can get some feeding tongs. Basically you just wiggle the mouse around a little and pretend it's alive to get the snakes attention.

Good luck. I hope your snake eats for you. I have a male that went off feed for 3 months last spring here. I have another male that is off feed at the moment for some odd reason. I can only guess he thinks he needs to burmate.

It's a pain but if the snakes are healthy they can go several months without food. Normally I feed once a week but if a snake is not interested in food, I wait every two weeks instead.

These are the ones I use though there are different kinds out there.

Here's an interesting video I just started watching. Brian talks about how normal it is for snakes to go off feed at the beginning of breeding season.
