Snake photography 101

Not to double post - but it gave me some ideas for my snow corn - I always have a hard time getting her color to come out!
 
thought I posted this morning, but perhaps not...

some things for even better shots:
-More Light: a couple shop lights would definitely help.
-Smaller Apertures: f/22 is your friend. Greater depth of field. f/8 is pretty shallow. If you kicked yourself down to 1/250-ish, you'd be able to run some smaller aperatures and the shutter speed would still be fast enough to catch tongue flicks and the like. usually not much action requiring such high shutter speeds.
