snake preference

Does a snake have a preference of what it likes between a rack system (probably less height space and maybe even less space overall) or aquarium type cage with glass sides with probably more space to move around (especially height)? I would like to try to build a rack system but I also want what my snakes like the most? Does anyone know what snakes prefer? Any suggestions or ideas plz? Thx.

I don't think a snake's really gonna be sat there worrying about whether its gonna be taking one option or the other! It ain't making the decision........You are!......So what do you think you would prefer? Ultimately it's your choice!..........But I know what I would prefer if I was a snake!

Agreed.

A snake may be more active given the largest enviroment possible, but if thats a rubbermaid or tank, the snake has no idea. They can't tell between glass or plastic. But like I mentioned, corns LOVE moving about so getting the enclosure that's as large as possible is your best choice.

As for height, some people have corns that climb, I have had one. Some/most corns stay on the ground. Naturally, they are terristrial snakes which means spending most if not ALL the time on the ground. So basically if you have the space to give them height, give it to them! If not, it's not cruel not to do so.

Good luck

All my corns climb and they often rest at the top of the viv in some clay pots we have hung up.

Yes, unfortunately the plant didn't make it - I think it was to hot for it. Maybe plastic plants are better :p
