Snakes on a Face?

http://www.time.com/time/video/player/0,32068,1815811898_1844151,00.html So, this is a video I found surfing cracked today, of a woman who uses her snakes as massage tools. Thoughts? I feel kinda bad for the young snakes that were wrapped (rather forcefully looking) around the guy's toes, and the one young snake that was trying to move off his neck and couldn't D8

...interesting that she'd trust a king snake near baby corns too :O

I'm all for playing with a pile of snakes... but not sure how to feel about this o.o

I couldn't watch more than a couple of minutes without turning it off in disgust. Firstly, I'd never have my animals manhandled like that. Seeing someone being covered in snakes, with baby rats on their feet, is just asking for feeding strikes and shows utter comtempt for the animals, like some kind of old-school circus act. As snakes naturally slither through their own feces and in my experience a lot of rodents pee and poop freely when under stress, this isn't the sort of 'spa treatment' I'd recommend either, Salmonella anyone?

Agreed! I occassional do silly things with my snake where I'll play-nom on her but usually she's had a bath first... but other than that, she was just throwing those snakes around and forcing them into unnatural places...idk ;_;

Meh, salmonella is my least concern. I kiss all my reptiles :p No one ever talks about all the nasties that cats and dogs carry, and people are affectionate with them.
I don't think they should be manhandled like that, and that one snake is in pretty rough shape with the shed falking off all over the place. Rats on the feet don't seem like a good idea either...

at about 2:20 or so in the vid there is a wee little corn looking like its having some kind of convulsion on the guys neck... what can cause that? very disturbing to watch thats for sure.

I noticed that too, I was laughing as to hear the snake say " Ya like that huh huh? Ya I'll work your neck huh huh, ya like that?"
:laugh01:

When I have my 5 footer out, I find it really relaxing when he is around my neck and sometimes he just sits there, other times he moves around my neck like a mini massage

Actually, it was the little snake being unable to move. there wasn't enough for him to push against to get away... at least that's what it looks like to me. ;_;

My boa is the best massage therapist ever.

I loved our old boa as a massage tool...but he did have a thing for my braided hair ;) Actually, any of my snakes that get near my head have a field day in my hair, braided, ponytailed or loose. It's not nearly so much fun to get them out.

Definitely a crappy gimmick... not showing or teaching respect for these animals at all. She's treating them like a side show novelty, not living breathing creatures.
