Snow or opal?

DaemoNox

Sorry about the rather inexperianced question, this is just my first time with opals I'd like to get other opinions from people who have hatched them. They are from an amel het lav X anery het amel, lav, and hypo. Mom ended up being het anery aswell which I wasnt expecting so now I have to seperate the snows from the possible opals. I'll keep on posting pictures as the ones in question hatch out.

in the second pic i am thinkin gopal, but i am sooo not experienced, lol
(and i can t spell) :crazy02:

I'm trying to figure the same thing out with mine! Mine looks like a snow but it should be an opal and it looks almost exactly like yours. I've heard both sides, some opal hatchlings look like snows and some look like pale amels. The opal I got last year looked more like a snow. :shrugs: I just can't tell. Of course, it there's anery and lav in the mix, it could be a snopal.

Thanks everyone! He'll be going as a snow unless he suddenly changes. I'll post more questionables as they come out.

P.S. this is a lavender right?

Certainly has the lavender influence in the pattern. I think that's part of what's thrown me off about my and your snow/opal/thingie is the lack of odd pattern so frequently seen in lavender and lav morphs. I know it isn't always there, but I was kinda expecting it.

I won't even comment on the snow/opals because I haven't a clue, but the lav looks like it might be an anery lav. Maybe? :shrugs:

I wouldn't be so quick to guess, jazzgeek! Your girl looked just like a snow until she shed! :sidestep:

I think it will be much easier after the first shed, D! :crazy02:

I'd say they're all snows in my eyes but like the others said, wait til they've shed (twice would be best) before you lable them.
