So, how often do corn snakes bite?

Handle with care..

Corns never usually bite, but it can happen. I felt bad last night because as I was getting my daughter's snake out for her to hold she tried to run away(the snake, that is) (she is in a reall big cage, but that will change soon) anyway, I grabbed her up very quickly and probably scared her (she thought she was under attack) so she bit my daughter (who is two) in the chin. At first I thought she just scared her and struck toward her but then a few seconds later I saw the red marks, not to bad though. Adult bites may sting a little for a few seconds and usually hardly bleed. I felt pretty bad because she only bit because I grabbed her so fast as she was running away. It didn't take Eva long (about 20 sec.) and she was ready to hold her "tiger". She loves snakes and is a tough girl with no fear. I just hope she doesn't mention it to grandma. That is the first time in a year that any of my snakes have bitten anyone, including hatchlings. Careful handling makes all the difference! The nice things about a corn bite if it does happen is it doesn't hurt, well, I guess that depends on how tough you are! JK, LOL I could count the number of times bitten on one hand, well ok, maybe two, that I have been bitten by a corn and I have had over hundreds of corns in the last few years and owned corns for over ten years.
