Is she preggers? I know I just posted pics of her hooked up under a week ago, but I did have her and the male together a while back too. I didn't 'see' any evidence of mating though from that other than some dried flaky stuff on the bottom of the tank. Didn't think it could have been spooge. Am i just hoping here? Whaddaya think?

i have no experince in the subject, however she does look pregnent! she looks fat, and trust me, ive put up with a pregnent mum for 9 months and the days keep coming and coming, lol, the future doesent get any easyer.

no advice from any of the bigwigs?? pleaaaaaase tell me i'm not grasping at straws cause she hasn't gone blue yet and if she isn't pregnant then she might be sick with her backbone showing like that.....

I dont usually see signs of swelling and weight gain until 2-3 weeks in to the pregnancy. Not to mention pics are always hard to tell- here are signs that mine are pregnant( in order)- they stop feeding, get really pissy, start to swell near the vent, raised backbone, go into blue about 2.5-3 weeks after witnessed hook-up.

I think you are going to have wait a little longer to be sure....

thank you so much! i found the flakey stuff about 2 weeks ago, maybe a few days more, and she refused her meal last week.... i'm guessing she might be... if she goes blue in the next week or so then she is!

Lay your hand flat down on a counter/table top, and have her crawl over it. If you feel little bumps, then those are eggs. :)

you know, i have tried that, but she never seems interested in moving around when i have her out. she's... how can i say this nicely.... LAZY!!! lol

ok so i just tried it again. we went into a room where there was no chance of cats bothering us and i got her to crawl over my fingers with a paper towel in between. what exactly are these "bumps" supposed to feel like? since i don't know what i'm supposed to be feeling for i can't really tell. are they large? hard? squishy? spaced near or close together? i'm just not sure.

wow, so she is totally gravid! i'm so excited. i read that taking her out for excersize (the non-stressful kind of course) was good for her and would help her closer to laying her clutch so i had her out for about 6 minutes today. firstly, she is getting really mad when i go to touch her. no striking yet, but she throws coils at me madly and follows me hand movements veeeeerrrrrrry closely with her head. she shed last sunday so i'm hoping for eggs in about another 10 days. she is either crawling around her cage, or half in her laybox and half in her water dish, or totally burrowed in her laybox with the last option being the majority of the time these last few days. THEN, when i was putting her back in her tub today, i FINALLY felt the lumps!!!!! i counted at least 8 before she was outta my hand and i didn't want to bother her anymore. the thing is, she almost looks like she is losing weight rather than putting it on... she hasn't gotten very big at all, and her backbone is showing quite noticeably. she hasn't eaten in almost 4 weeks though so i think that is it. i'm gonna have a large supply of fuzzies for her to chow down on as soon as she lays.
i'm so excited, and kinda nervous too. Sem and i are both first-timers. :)
wish us luck!

Congrats! But keep in mind if she shed last Sunday you could easily have eggs this Wednesday. I have a few of my girls that lay like clockwork after their shed - it's great.

WEDNESDAY!!! I had eggs today!!! 15 what look like perfect eggs!!! Is it just me or is that pretty good for a first timer? And the male is only 20 months old! Tell you what though, mom looks like she's been through hell and back..... gonna go get her a couple of fuzzies right now. I took pics, but since I'm in the process of moving I have temporarily misplaced the thingy cord to put them on my computer... Hopefully I can show you all within the next couple of days. OMG I'M GONNA BE A GRAMMA!!!! lol

Ok..so your girl doesn't go by that 10 day rule - she speeds things up to a week. Congrats on the eggs!
