As for the light and dark phases, technically no, but as with any type of snake there is some variability within the species, thus you can find Argentines with a high amount of black and white, and there are some that show more brown and golden toning, this guy is one of the darker ones with very little gold toning....which is usually the ones I prefer. LOL If you are looking for a darker one, stay away from youngsters with high amounts of pink in thier pattern as the pink will turn to golden tan as they age.
