Some people. (Craigslist)

Yep, the original one was already flagged. Judging from the reply I assume this guy was going to throw out his pets. Terrible.

They would not live to long with winter coming on. Arkansas gets way to cold in winter for them to survive.

All he had to do is post them for free and he would have 100s of calls to get the free snakes.

Geeze, people are insane. Really? He thinks setting his boa and python "free" into some residential neighborhood in Arkansas with winter coming is a good idea?? Reminds me of the guy I got my first beardie from. The guy offered him to me, then went on to say, "Yeah, if no one wants him, I'll probably just let him go in that field over there..." This is western Washington in the middle of January. Upper 30's, freezing rain day and night, and the field he was talking about was some swampy patch of farmland. If the cold didn't get him, he'd be dead of a severe respiratory in no time.

And the way these people say it so nonchalantly, like it's totally normal to release this exotic pet you don't want anymore into an environment where it'll meet certain death, is as appalling as the threat itself.

My first guinea pig, Freddie, was going to "be released into the wild" by his previous owner. He was such a great little pig. I'm glad that he someone managed to get to Cavy Care Inc, the local cavy rescue.

People amaze me. I had someone tell me recently with pride in their voice that they released a captive bred snapping turtle into a lake near me. Granted, the thing probably lives on, but that's not the point.
