Splashed Mice

Finally figured out what this pattern is. The AFRMA calls it "Splashed". A very cool pattern, indeed. This, apparently is the classic version, although it comes in a light phase. I have a female now that is a Dove Gray Splashed...I'll have to get a photo of her. The guy in the picture is all grown up now and soon to be siring little mouselets of his own.

In my colony it seems to be a simple recessive single gene. Anyone knowledgeable in mouse genetics know for certain? :D

Sorry, can't help out there. :shrugs: I only know the basics... varieties and patterns. Definitely a darling mouse! Can't wait to see a picture of the Dove Gray Splashed. :D

I have Black and white splashed versions but it is NOT recessive...or at least what I'm working with isn't. When homo to homo are put together I get a bunch of grey, brown and tan. I'm working with F2's now.....
We'll see!
Mice can be almost as frustrating as cornsnakes...don't know what you are going to get.....

But....if you get fed up with a project it is easy to take care of it ;)
