spreading babies around

What would make moms spread their babies around the cage? Non are harmed and its happening in two diff cages. One has about 6 pinkies and the other 17 fuzzies.....i dont get it....
 
yes but they didnt make piles they were all by themselves sleeping.....and they have all been fine until today...one was even put in the water dish which is the first ive seen of....

ps yes i know water dishes are bad but i cant get a bottle yet
 
If it is hot where they are kept they will often spread them around. Multiple moms like mentioned earlier.
 
oh that makes a lot of sense.....i had them outside cleaning cages and it is warm no that theyve been inside theyve moved them back...
Do they do that to help cool them off or something?
 
oh ok well they all seem to be back together now...for not seeing at all the fuzzies andeven the pinkies in these litters move quick!
