I came home and found my male black motley corn wrapped around the temp and humidity gauges in his viv. I reached in to take him off and found he had gotten stuck on the backing which attached to the viv. I managed to be able to release him with minimal damage to either of us. Is there a humidity gauge that I can use in the viv that doent need to be attached to the glass with the sticky backing to avoid this again. It was very distressing. My scale babies are very important and do not want to go through this again. Any help/ advice would be appreciated. Thank you

yes their most definitely is!

their a little more pricey but they are also more accurate.
I use one made by Temp Minder. I think it is, and it tells me the room temp and the humidity, their a little large but they stand up on their own and look pretty sleek in my opinion

you can pick them up at any home hardward or Lowes in the thermometer section.

hope this helps! :)

Thank you so much !!!! I was so scared for my baby. I will go and get one. I do not want him to go through that again. Yes it does. Thank you . I was calm while getting him released but after I got him down and determined he was ok, I am a total emotional wreck! I appreciate the help

not a problem!

I would hate to wake up and find one my babies stuck on something .. :(
soo glad I could help!

Big Apple Herp also sells a nice probed one, combined with a thermometer. I've used these for YEARS (the thermometer variety) and they are very reliable.

But- do you really need to know the humidity?

Oh- this is the coolest thing EVER!!!

Just to let you know, vegetable oil works really well to free corns fron anything they are stuck to. Like when one of my females had a mini escape and found some duct tape.

I was wondering if the veg oil would be good to use. I do have some on hand. Thank you so much. My scale babies are so important to me and after it was all done I sat on my couch and fell apart. He is doing good, I checked on him when I came home and he was active, tongue flickering and wriggling all over my hands and arm..:).
