ive tried everything 2 get my baby boy eat he eat has 12 days go and i tried last nite and he still wont eat.

he was brumated for 3 months has the breeder told me if you brumate he might eat he use to eat well but now hes not.

can anyone help one me again

he 8 month old weighns 23 grams

thank you

I may well have misunderstood your post, but your snake ate 12 days ago? Even if you feed on a 5-day schedule, that only allows for a maximum of 2 skipped feedings.

Also I'm no expert on this subject, but isn't 8 months old a little too young to brumate?

Don't keep hassling him with food, just try once a week. Also try and avoid handling him between meals to minimise stress.

well i tried him after each 5 days afterto see if he will eat so i guess he has skipped two meals but he has been brumated for 3 months.

i dont hassle him. hes always in his vivaruim.

i just try but him in magarine tub with pinky which is hot so he can spell him

I'm sorry Johnny but I don't quite understand. You said that the breeder told you to brumate as this sometimes gets them feeding, yet your snake has only skipped 2 feedings, and after the brumation?

i just try but him in magarine tub with pinky which is hot so he can spell him

I really don't understand this. I'd love to help you, but your posts aren't very clear. Please have a little look at your structure and grammar, I feel you will get more responses that way and I will be able to help you properly.

In the meantime, as I said, two missed feedings isn't anything to worry about. Just try to feed once a week. How do you offer food to your snake? Is it live, fresh killed, frozen/thawed? Do you just drop it in or do you wave it on tongs? Have you tried braining/cutting the mice? Also, how is your tank set up? What temperature is your snake kept at? Does he have hides? Etc etc...

the set up is ok just that he wasnt eating the breeder told me to send him back and see if he eat for him again which is good xx

I am no expert either but I have to agree with you Plissken, I do believe that that is too young to brumate a snake...(I stand corrected of course)

In any case, here are a few things to check out/try...(speaking from recent experience with non-feeder hatchlings)

Firstly, how often are you handling the snake? Some snakes are very sensitive to handling and what may not seem like too much handling to you, could be stressing the snake out.

Secondly, check your temps.

Where is your tank/Viv set up? Is it in a room where there is a fair ammount of activity, like a bedroom or lounge? It maybe that constant movement and noise is causing the snake to be nervous and thus not feeding.

What size prey is your snake on? I would suggest trying a smaller prey item, just to get them feeding, try live if it does not want to take f/t.

My special trick (worked with BOTH non-feeders I had first time) is to leave them completely alone for a few days. Then put them into a smaller container with some water and the prey item and then put the container in a dark closet. Do this in the early evening. Leave it in the closet without opening it until the next evening at around the same time. You are giving the snake complete darkness and peace and quiet at the same time...

Well, worked for both my non-feeders! lol Now they eat like pigs!!! :grin01: The one female is my healthiest eater!
