Stripe / Motley / Hurricane

Ok, so I know what a stripe is, and I know what a motley is, and I thought I knew what a hurricane is...

However,

On this web site Rich has a hurricane oh a particular colour, having what looks like circles down its back. This is what I would also class as hurricane.

BUT:

Rich also has, for example Lavender Motley, and this shows the same pattern as the hurricane???

Am I missing something or has Rich slipped up??

Any help would be really appreciative!
