Hey all,

Been working on these projects for some time.
It's been a good year so far...

I still have to prove these guys out.
I THINK I know what they are.
I at least know the genetics that went into them.

Not great quality pics.

Striped Amber
Amelanistic Striped Lavender
Striped Lavender
I also hatched out some striped carmals, but I don't have pictures yet.

The amelanistic stripe lavender is first.

Thanks for taking a look!

Nice. I like the striped amber. Might have to make me some of those once my hypo stripe is old enough to breed to my amber female.

-Kat

When these snakes hatched out there was a "happy dance"
jig for each one.

All I need now to complete my "Master Plan"
is:
striped butter
hypo striped lavender

I still have 2 clutches to hatch that may produce striped butters.
I'll have to wait for next year for the hypo stripe lavender:(

I'm keepin' my fingers crossed!

Congratulations!

They're all beautiful!

And I agree with Kat, I like the striped amber. =D

Hopefully next year will turn out just as good as this year.

*crosses fingers for you* Hope you get some striped butters out of the last couple clutches. ;)

What are the parents?

What are the parents of these fantastic corns? I mean, like how did u manage to get a striped Opal (amel lavender) corn? Did u start with a opal and then crossed it with a stripe or did u start with a striped amel and a striped lavender? How long did this take to get out these tripple ressesive traits?? I would be thankful for the het and homo genes of the parent and babies....Cause for what i've herd it takes very long and much luck to get these tripple ressesive traits, especially when it's pattern muttations instead of color mutations!
I admire you're work =).

Thanks!

That is such a cool accomplishment. Wow, Striped laveder and Striped Amel Lavender. Triple hets are 1 in 64 chance.. You bet the snake gods where looking down on you.

marcel,

that´s the point. 1/64 is not much, but with an easy trick you can use the 1/16 chance - that´s hard enough :)
so don´s use:
amber x striped
use
amber x hypo striped (or caramel striped)
:D

Can we see a full shot of the striped amber?

Those are great-looking snakes!
I want to see more of the striped amber.

Thanks Guys!

I just wanted everyone to take a look.

Thanks for the kind words!

For the Striped Amber...
I crossed a female Carmal (from Rich Z.) to a Hypo x Stripe (from Mark Bell) and when their babies hatched out I had half the clutch turn out to be Hypo's. The Carmal was Het. Hypo.
The first year I bred these babies I got Hypo's, Ambers,
Hypo x Stripes, and what looked to be Ghost(?).
One single male Amber stripe hatched and wouldn't ya know it, he wouldn't eat anything. He ended up not making it.
This year was a little better.
4 Amber Stripes and a Ghost Stripe from these female Hypo Het. Stripe and Carmal. I had the odds in my favor...1 in 16.

For the Striped Lavender...
I crossed a female Lavender (from Rich Z.) to the same Hypo x Stripe (from Mark Bell) as the Carmal.
The first year there babies were to breed...well they didn't.
The second year they produced Normals, Hypo's, Hypo x Stripes, Stripes, Lavenders, one Striped Lavender, and to my surprise what looks to be Anerythristics. The male Hypo x Stripe from Mark Bell is Het. for Anerythrism (Ghost). This explains some Ghost's coming from the Carmal and the Hypo x Stripe cross.
1 in 64 for the hypo x striped x lavender. Maybe next year!

For the Striped Opal...
I bred the Lavender female (from Rich Z.) to an Albino x Stripe (from Mark Bell stock). Their babies were normal so I had a 1 in 64 chance for the Striped Opal. This is the first year I was able to breed them.
I was surprised to open the incubation box holding one clutch from the 3x Hets and find a couple of Normals, 1 Stripe, 1 Lavender, 2 Albino's, 2 Opals, and 1 Striped Opal. WOW! I wonder what these odds are.

In short, I have bred the Carmal Het. Hypo and the Lavender (from Rich Z.) to two different males, a Hypo x Stripe and an Albino x Stripe (from Mark Bell). Both males have been proven Het. Anerythrism through breeding trials.
This means I have animals that are:
Hypo Het. Stripe x Carmal x Anerythrism (2.3)
Het. Hypo x Stripe x Lavender Poss. Het. Anery (2.2)
Het. Albino x Stripe x Carmal x Anery. (2.2)
Het. Albino x Stripe x Lavender Poss. Het. Anery. (2.2)

I know I'm not the only one out there breeding for the impossible...So :D GOOD LUCK :D to everyone that is trying!

May the "Snake Gods" smile on everyone,
Geoff Stricker
