Summer finds

The buzzards have fledged their chicks, so the nest is now deserted. So I'll have to hope they stay resident in the area for a chance to see them. Today I did see a pair of Green Woodpeckers though and managed to get a shot of one of them in flight.

OOOOhhhh... Very pretty woodpecker. Is this what they look like while posing? If so, you're quite lucky to have such pretty birds around you.

Our Green Woodpecker is a flower shop.... :(

That's it, Fred! But they generally pose just long enough for you to think you'll get a shot, then fly off or just walk around a tree-trunk out of sight! I really am thinking about an upgraded camera for the bird photography. I love the macro features on mine but it just won't give me the longer-range shots I'd like to get. This was the best I could get while it ws posing on the tree!

LOL... Oh, yeah... I can "just" make it out! :p :p :p! Maybe you need 2 cameras... one with a telephoto lense on it and the one you've got for macros & closer subjects.
