Sunkissed Blizzard and Amel

Joejr14

Grand Bubble Burster
Of course, I won't know definitively about the blizzard for quite some time, but from different lighting conditions I believe I see enough to call him that for the time being. The amel is no question, and they both have the sunkissed 'tude. I know they say that hypo is masked by amel, but that is definitely not the case when talking about this particular type of hypo. The camera doesn't pick it up well, but it's very obvious in person.

Anywho, here are some freshly shed shots of both.

Yeah, that amel is very intensely colored.
I agree! Could the Sunkissed be having an affect on the amel color besides the expected pattern?

Oh it definitely does have an effect on the color, at least at hatchling stage. I don't know about down the road, but there's no doubt about this hatchling looking completely different than any other amel I've hatched out or seen.

I just got back from seeing these snakes in person, and I can tell you that without a doubt, amel isn't masking all of sunkissed's color influence on that snake. Believe me when I tell you that the photos do not capture what makes that amel-sunkissed's color something special. In the photos, it looks like an intensely colored amel, but the colors don't look unexpected for an amel. In person, the true color is very unexpected. You could spot it in a pile of amels at 20 yards. Joe was watching me very closely while he had this one out. I'm sure he saw the larcenous look on my face. :grin01:

The blizzard is outstanding too, but even in person I couldn't come to any definite conclusion concerning sunkissed influence.

Great snakes both! Blizzards are one of my faves, I reckon sunkissed might make it even cooler!
