This a Garter Snake my brother found outside today. He/she was slithering around beside the concrete bricks beside our shed, and when my brother went over to look at a birds nest in a crevice of the shed, he saw it crawling around. It was a very hot morning, after a pretty long crappy weather spree (except for saturday!), so I'm sure he/she was looking for food. I took these photo's immediately after, and then we let him/her go right where we found it. He/she was very calm through the picture taking, and here are some of the photo's I took.

Thanks guys!. Their pretty common around here in general, but we see only a few a year around our property. I wish I could magically lift the shed he was crawling around by, though. I'm sure there's some more snakes under there.
 
nice. i did some lawn mowing herping today. we just moved in here and i mowed for the first time today, i had to move 2 garters, and a northern brown.

awesome finds though. i love when im just minding my own business, and then i see a snake just doin its own thing also. a lot of times i wont even attempt to catch them, but ill just sit and watch them.
