hey, I just got a new digital camera (SWEET) and I already took some pics of my snakes, but I just wanna make sure that the flash will not harm the snakes. I dont want them to go blind from the flash or anything, you know. Their eyes get like dialated or whatever when I take the picture and it makes me scared that it may be hurting them, I do stay 38 inches or further from them if I have the flash on, but just wondering thanks.
 
The flash won't harm your snakes. They'll be fine. If the flash would hurt their eyes, sunlight would do much more damage, but seeing as how most snakes live outside..... :cool:
 
I'm sure they see little spots for a few minutes :)...but it doesn't seem to phase them
 
i doubt it would be a problem. We take flash photos of all the little creatures, and it doesnt seem to hurt their eyes on bit!

As well, if you are really worried, tape a bit of wax paper over the flash. youll get a bit of extra light, but the wax paper will diffuse the light some.
