So if anyone has been watch a few of my posts you should know that Petco has a FL King that I really want. However, I don't have the money to pay for all the extras and the $87 snake. So do you think that I could talk Petco into giving me the snake free if I bought all the stuff I would need minus the tank and bedding? I would still end up buying over $100 worth of stuff from them or should I just buy the snake and buy other stuff from random places?

Also what UTH works best on plastic tubs?

Any under tank heater with a thermostat will work with a tub, And I don't think a pet store would do that, they would not make much profit and after all they are a business.

It won't hurt to ask, but I doubt if you'll be able to do a deal with a major chain like Petco; if you won't buy something at full whack, they have enough potential customers through their doors to wait for someone who will. It's a strategy that's more likely to work with an independent shop I'd have thought.

But give it a go if you have the nerve - if you don't ask, you don't get.

The only time they're desperate with animals is when it's been there for years, and even then they only offer it at like 50% off.
I'd be REALLY suprised.
 
I don't see it happening. I don't even think the manager has the authority to make that decision. :shrugs:
 
I don't think it would happen. Now if it was a LPS then maybe. But not with a large chain store, they may give you a discount but not a free animal. But remember you have to talk to the Manager.

Also, if you really don't have the money for the extras and the caging then I would skip in even thinking about buying the animal. Get your stuff first and then get the animal.
