Maybe it's just because I'm from a city known for its production facilities, but when I first saw the thread title, I was hoping for a discussion of beer.
I give all my snakes water straight from the faucet. The water gets dumped out and replaced every 4th day and a new bowl of water every 8th day.
What's the point in letting the water sit out for 24 hours before giving it to the snake? The chlorine will also evaporate in a water bowl. I doubt the amount they would drink in the first 24 hours would be harmful. Out of the thousands of snakes I've had in the past 20 years (and all the different water facilities from moving several times), I don't know of any that have died from bad water.
