I rescued a little ghost corn a few weeks ago that had gotten wrapped up in some nasty tape. his owner had a hole in the tank lid and tried to close it using flu pipe tape that's some seriously sticky tape. When I got the poor thing it was stuck to its self badly. I could see the owner had pulled some of the goooey tape glue off. I looked as if the little guy had bubble gum all over him. I tried everything to get the glue to release its hold soaking the poor little guy. I ended up rubbing A and D ointment on my hands and let him slither threw them several times. I then put him in a small tub in my rack with only a paper towel and water bowl every six hours I would remove him soak off the ointment and reapply. Today he shed, very nasty broken in millions of tiny pieces. He is no longer sticky from the glue and doing great. He ate his first meal in 3 week. I am posting this for anyone who has this problem as sometimes the best way to catch an escaped snake is with tape. A and D ointment is great for healing skin but most important in this case its greasy feel kept the snake from getting stuck to him self and his tub long enough that he could shed off the glue. I'm sure it was way less stressful for him and certianly less stressful then trying to remove the glue with tweezers. I will keep this thread posted on his recovery. I wish i had taken some pics of how bad he looked when i got him but I was more concerned with keeping his stress down and keeping him alive
