Tape residue off glass?

Plissken

Crazy Snail Lady
Hi guys,

I have a large wooden vivarium, currently empty, which I bought in preparation for my next snake. The guys at the pet store taped the glass doors together, and when I took the tape off it left a sort of residue which is very firmly attached to the glass. I can't get off with just water. I'm not sure what will work without damaging the glass. I also don't wish to use any sprays or chemicals with a strong smell, as I stack my vivariums and I already got the new viv in to the stack where Connor and Chester are, meaning that my other animals are pretty much directly on top of this viv.

Any ideas much appreciated! I know that wasn't the best description in the world, I can supply pics if that will make life easier...

If the residue is sticky, you will most likely need to use something. Glass cleaner with ammonia will work; that or Goo Gone. If you're concerned about fumes, use a fan while you're cleaning them.

I'll second the idea to use goo gone. A razor will work but if it's still a little sticky it will tricky. goo gone will have it off in seconds.

If it is dried on residue, although you don't want to use chemical.. Nail polish remover will lift the tape residue with a little work..

And I bet some sort of cooking oil would get it off with a little added elbow grease, but then you'll have to use glass cleaner after that anyway.
