I have seen hand held tazer or stun guns, for self defense for as low as $20 Wouls they work to cull mice and rats?

OK, I'm going to assume that you're joking here. That would be a cruel and horrible way to kill them. If you're looking for a less cruel way, try dunking them in and out of a bucket of ice cold water at 2 second intervals until they succumb from exhaustion and drown...

It might sound mean, but i worked at a turkey farm, and they killed the turkeys by giving them and electirc shock, it wouls be so powerful it would kill them in an instant.

I've been zapped twice.
Once, I was using secateurs to trim roots of my water iris away from around the pond pump and I cut through the power cable. All I can say is THANK GOODNESS FOR POWER CUT OUT SWITCHES. It knocked the air out of me, threw a jolt through my entire body and made me nauseous and numb for a few hours.
The other time I was reaching over my horses fence and accidentaly touched the bull wire with my ribs. It knocked the air out of me with a loud 'HUA' and left a welt which blistered a few hours later (through a tshirt mind you).
Neither was pleasant and neither was fatal. The second one was on an alternating current so it couldn't have killed me but if we didn't have a safety switch, I would have literally been cooked alive the first time.

Wow. Not even going to try and start. Clearly. NO! Have you ever been shocked? I have. I grabbed a fence at the stables I worked for and got electrocuted. It hurt like hell. Just because you saw it done to turkeys, and people get the electric chair does not, in any way. Make it humane.
Hmm, CO2 chamber the way to go. I set one up to do my fuzzy's in for the freezer the other day. Two containers, one small enough to fit in the other, Baking soda and Vinegar, CO2 is heavier than air so you can gradually add the vinegar without losing the CO2 till the floor gets covered, you will be able to tell because the mice just start to go to sleep... Put a lid on it and wait ten minutes then off to feed or freezer. Just try and not overflow the chamber cauze then your mice will smell like vinegar..
There are more elaborate ways to set it up, using two chambers and tubing to prevent overflow from getting on the mice, those are a little more involved to build but not much more spendy. If you really want to go all out get some airline tubing from the aquarium store and go to a Beer and wine brewers supply shop and but a CO2 injector for around $25. Attache the tube to the injector, insert the CO2 bulb, and squeeze the handle, clean dry CO2. Mice go to sleep, and seem to be relatively unstressed. (At least its quick and fairly painless anyhow) In addition, the CO2 is harmless to your snake when he eats the mouse later.

Actually I've found the best, cheapest in the long run source for easy CO2 is 20 oz paintball CO2 tanks. The shop I bought it from refills them for free on tuesdays, all other days its only $1 and a 20 oz tank fill lasts a LONG time.
The initial outlay may be a bit more, $40-$50 for the tank and remote coil, but it's convenient and quick and as humane as possible. and no messy, inaccurate vinegar and baking soda mixtures or dry ice to deal with

ok, i was just wondering about it, i am sorry, i havent done it to any animals, i am sorry if i offended anybody. the biggest shock i have ever gotten is just from a standard house socket.

Heres how to build a cheap Co2 chamber. Initial cost is about $1 and then about $0.50 for everytime you need to kill.
Find an old "tupperware" type container around the house. Make sure it has a matching lid. Drill a bunch of 1/4" holes in the lid. (This container is to keep the prey away from the dry ice. Direct contact with dry ice can cause frostburn or cause limbs to break off).
Find a 4 or 5 gallon bucket that has a lid. (Make sure its been cleaned out).
Put about 2" of water in the "tupperware" container. Get a half pound of dry ice and break it into small pieces (I use a hammer). Pour the dry ice into the "tupperware" container with the water. It will immediately start sublimating (changing from solid to gas). Snap the lid on the "tupperware" container. Put the "tupperware" container with the lid into the 5 gallon bucket.
Place the lid to the 5 gallon bucket on LOOSELY (as dry ice is constantly sublimating if you make it airtight it can blow off the top). Start dropping the critters into the bucket. They will be unconscious in 10-15 seconds and will expire in under 2 minutes.
I by dry ice at my local grocery store. It is $0.62 per lb.
If anything is hard to understand please post back and ill gladly go into more detail.
