Tear gas vs red tail?

So I Have a friend who is an ACO and she went out on a SWAT call the other night...they were able to get the dogs out before they gassed the house but they were unaware of a supposed 8' red tail in a terrarium located inside...she messaged me tonight asking of said tear gas would have an effect on the snake? Her local F&G guy said he didn't really know, that different chemicals effect different species (no sh*t...) but I was thinking that it may have some sort of effect...the stuff they used is this:

I told her I would ask around, any tips would be greatly appreciated. She did tell the owners to wipe him down when they were done doing whatever it was they were doing but she was curious for potential future encounters. Thanks gang.

I've been kinda keeping an eye on this thread to see what folks had to say. I don't know. I will say that I've been gassed with CS gas and it attacks your eyes and respiratory system (anything wet including sweat, so eyes, nose, armpits, groin, and when you breath it in, it feels like you swallowed fiery shards of glass). So, with a snake not being able to close its eyes, that must have been hell for the poor thing. When I was gassed I physically could not open my eyes, so for that snake, it must have been terrible. Different effects for different species, but that was my experience.

I have absolutely no clue, but since snakes have a clear scale over their eyes, maybe it wouldn't get into the eyes as much as it would with a human (or other mammals)?
