Tell me about Jungle Corns....please

That is from Prehistoric Pets. If you are intrested in one I would DEFFINATELY go to an actual breeder.

They are pretty though.

Gold Jungle Corn for sale on Kingsnake

This thing is beautiful...it's a cross between corn and king right? What do you know about them...are they as easy to get along with as corns? I'm just curious about getting one.

they are half king/corn and as far as i know there temperments differ from the nicest corns to the meanest kingsnakes( not saying they are mean :grin01: )

I will go through a breeder. I've heard bad things about Prehistoric Pets. Does anyone have any breeders for jungle corns that they suggest?

Jungle Corns are pretty much like Corns as far as attitude. Some of them can be a little more wiley, but usually they are calm. They tend to musk though, which they get from the King part of them. The care is the same for them as Corns. Also, their appearance is quite variable. I've seen the one from prehistoric pets that you are talking about. It is very nice, but I would also suggest trying to avoid them. Not only are they overpriced alot of the time, but I have heard some bad things about them too.

Trevor- Do you have a waiting list? What do you expect the babies to look like?

I had a horrible experience with Prehistoric pets. I bought an adult corn & it died 3 weeks later of a parasite infection. They wouldn't give my money back but I got a "credit"

I wouldn't recomend them personally.

I don't have a list yet, but I could :) Last year, my uncle bred these two. Some of the babies looked alot like the parents, and there were a couple that looked like Cal-Kings with saddles. They had a Corn pattern, but the saddles were completely black. On all of the babies that I have seen from this pairing, the ground color has been very white.

Cool beans. I just try to direct as many people away from Prehistoric Pets as I can. I just really dislike their business practices & the health of the animals they sold. I wish I knew better at the time or else I would have never let my husband buy a snake from there

caution concerning crossbreeding

just wanna point out that if the snake has king genes it could have also inherited the 'i think snakes taste great' trait as well, and you'd do well not to put that snake in the same environ as another corn..just a precaution. I dont think anyone wants to accidentally feed a king a $100 dollar snake..

In my opinion, you shouldn't keep two Corns together either. Canabalism has happened with corns too and is enough of a risk (albeit a small one) that I wouldn't take that chance. However, the uncle that I got these from had been keeping last years Jungle Corn babies in the same enclosure for the first 6 mo of there life without any incident. When discovering this, did I keep them that way? Hell no, they all got there own home. Just some food for thought.

I have been looking all over the internet...and the Kingsnake ad is the only thing I can find called a "gold" jungle corn....what is this thing, and how else would it be named?
