this may sound like a dumb question, but here it is... here were I live (south brazil) it can get over 90 degrees in the summer, would I still need to provide extra heating (like a heat pad or something) or just room tempo would be ok???

that depends on your room temp. If you room heats up with outside temps, then no you don't need external heating.

If you use an Air conditioner to keep the room cool then you might need it depending on how cool you keep the room.

I live in South Central Texas, and during the summer, I turn off all heating items for my snakes and they do just fine.

thanks for the quick reply... i´m planning on buying my first corn snake, so I´m doing a lot of research so I can provide it with the best conditions possible... :)

Well, sounds like you have come to the right place. And, welcome.

have you picked up "The Corn Snake Manual" by Cathy Love? This will be a wonderful place for you to start.

I was thinking about getting the manual, but I think it would get a little expensive with the shipping and all that... so I think I´ll just read as much as I can over here as I noticed there are LOTS of useful information here on the board... I want to spend my money only on things that are really necessary for keeping the snake, because they´re are quite expensive here on Brazil, specially because they´re are ilegal here and there are very few people that breed them....

if you search google for "care sheets" and/or "Corn snakes" you can get lots of info in one place. (as a matter of fact, a LOT of the stuff out there is illegaly reproduced directly from Kathy Love's book).

I don't see how you can 'illigaly' reproduce a book ment for education. Except for scanning the whole book with pictures and everything...

have you ever heard of copywright laws?
if you call it your own writing, when it isn't, that's not allowed.
