I was having some problems with my snake room reaching the low to mid 90's. I started having regurges with snakes that I have never had problems with. I was told by a large breeder that the temps were too high. That he prefers to keep his snakes at 80-82 degrees. I had to go out and buy an air conditioner to keep the upstairs cooler. Now it stays consistent at 80-82 and the regurges have stopped.
So,,anyone....if the temp max is 92 during the afternoon in the garage and the snake hides or sits in the water for a short time will they be alright!!!
I don't think it's real healthy for them to have to sit in water all the time to stay cool. It's also not great for making the quality of their water stay good. Snakes have bacteria, and it's probably not the best idea to have them contaminating the water they drink with their bodies. Hopefully the fans will keep the temps down for you.
I was wondering the same thing as Skye. Is there a particular reason you don't have them in the house?
I keep my snake's temp at a pretty steady 80 degrees which (as far as I can tell) he seems quite satisfied. On hotter days the UTH gets turned down (or off) and in the evening when it gets cooler I turn it up a bit. But I think about 80 degrees (give or take a little) is about where you want to keep the temp.
Well, these are my snakes I use in my classroom. I don't keep anything such as live animals in the house, for a variety of reasons. I have managed the situation and have a temp of 83 to 75 degrees variable. Thanks!
