Alright, I see plenty of search results for warming up a viv, anyone have any hints for cooling it down? I have fans on them now, but they are still topping out at 93-95 *F Never had such a hot summer here ~.~ Was thinking maybe ziploc baggies of ice under one hide? (under the aspen thats under the hide actually =) ) Can't get an air conditioner that will work in our windows, and they are somewhat illegal on our house (its a "century home" AKA old as heck and we can't even put in a rug without permission from the province ~.~) Any advice would be great =)

Well, just performed a quick test with a desk fan and a glass of water, and judging by the thermometer in here, it's worked :) Sounds promising, but I'd find the thread first.
 
Yeah, they call it a "swamp fan" or "poor mans air conditioner" just not sure if its okie for the snakes =/
 
I think it would be as long as you aren't blowing the cool moist air directly into the viv, but across the top. I think Blutengel started that other thread, but I can't remember the title. Maybe that will help, though.
 
As long as your using a thermostat for your heat source and your cages are properly ventilated, I don't think you need to worry about it. If anything, my snakes seem to enjoy heat and humidity of mid summer. They eat like pigs and get very active.

I went to college if Florida, right in the heart of the Corn Snake's natural range. We'd get heat in the 90's and wilting humidity for "months" without a break. The only ones that seemd to enjoy it were the various native herps, and the outdoor nuts like me that would venture out of the AC to go exploring or Scuba Diving......
