night time should be around 70 no less but 87 seems a lil high for day time temp.. i dont know if someone has a different opinion but mine is 80 during the day and 70 at night.
Well if you are using a UTH ( under tank heater) then you should check the temp on the bottom of the glass tank and not the top of the substrate. i would only recomend a high of 82*-86*F on the glass. anything over 90*F from what i hear can burn them.
