The battle is over... the girlfriend won! 5:3

Alas after a long uphill battle with my girlfriend, girlfriends family and my family. It appears I will stop with the amount I snakes I have now and cannot get anymore unless I breed them myself.

But let me explain further so I don’t seem like a whipped dude! The first reason I’m not aloud anymore snakes is the most irrational won and the one I could care less for! The irrational emotional attachment with "I hate snakes" "they are gross!" " I don’t want anything to do with them!" and yada yada yah. I could argue this one all day but no matter the outcome of the conversation there still will be a general distaste to my animals.

The next reason, im way to busy! Im the Head Trainers of a 30 personal training staff, Im a student studying Neuromuscular Rehabilitation and Biomechanics, I have my out fitness related goals and i also do various health seminars monthly! I don’t have the time to invest in this hobby again :(

As it stands I have 3 animals. 1yr old Female ghost het mot. and 1.1 pair of Butter stripes (6 weeks old) IM VERY happy with what i have but I emotional investing a lot into the idea of breeding! In the future I really would love to get into the breeding scene AND I've been given the green light on breeding my snakes and keeping various babies! Maybe I can get some cool animals through my Butter stripe male and ghost. Second generation will give me some fun stuff.

Anyway, This is more of a relieving rant I felt the need to write down somewhere! I HOPE some of you can relate to this and I would love to hear your stories!!!

Now back to working on some seminars, studying cervical spine influence to the ankle and holding my butter girl 

You should have just got her a pink one and then she'd be happy ;)

Kidding.
At least you have your butters!

Also doesn't sound whipped to me, sounds more like you were fighting a non winning battle - and then realized it was silly since you didn't have time anyways.

very true!
plus in 2 years i can breed my ghost girl and theres no saying how many babies im aloud to keep :D
heh heh heh

Give it a couple years. When she sees how cute they are when they pip, and that they are not gross, she may change her mind. And no, you don't sound whipped, you sound like a guy who has found a good gal & is willing to compromise for her!

they will grow on here greenie, thats what they did to my wife, now shes even pulling them out and defending having snakes to others
took about 2 1/2 yrs though

Sorry, you sound whipped. Now I understand reason number two that you do not have the time because of work and school.

Love the Fatman

Hey Dude, does it still count if i give u one of my hatchies for free one day?? :D and trust me, it's kind of good to have a limit, we're at 20 snakes, now we're getting a savannah monitor and possibly a dwarf type alligator/croc?? i dont know how good of an idea that one is but he wants one and its his place.. i guess what im saying is, without a limit, you run out of space and money fast! besides like u said ur living the collector/breeder life through me! ur welcome to come by and check things out/help out whenever you want! but u sure are crazy busy and i must say *WPSHHHH! (best i can do at typing the sound of a whip, this is a joke ps.) lol, good luck with the battle, if it helps i take ur side bro! lol.

They made you stop at three? ...You're whipped.

But nice job having a positive attitude about it!

You post this big headline type title that the gf won, then you post that a substantial reason is your own time constrictions.

Many people for various reasons have pauses in this hobby where other things take precedence for a while. I would say however that if the time factor is the real factor, that you not place blame elsewhere.

Pfffft, he doesn't sound whipped.
More like he doesn't sound single guys.

I'm just glad my boyfriend likes snakes as much as me, I still think you should try on her about a pink one or a hypo lavender. :p

Vic, a free baby will probably find a way into my house ;)

As whipped as it may sounds, I have to respect the emotions of those around me. I'm sure my gf will come around but in time.
lol I was hoping others had similar experiences!! In that case..

WWHHPPSSHH (lol vic)

You don't sound whipped to me. Luckily you realise you don't have time anyway :)
And like said, big chance she'll come around. Time is on your side :D

Good to hear! cause if things go according to plan... Next summer i'll have some amel het motley het lavender! i know its prob not something you'd be wanting but if you do they should be here!! but for now like you said.... WWHHPPSSHH WWHHPPSSHH crack that whip... na na na na na, licorice whip!

I seriously don't think I could understand or live with someone who told me "no" without a long and serious conversation about it, first, and a chance for BOTH people to compromise. But I'm not you, and I'm glad you respect the feelings of your g/f and her family. Now you have to figure out if they give you the same respect in that area? If not, it could lead to problems later on, I'm thinkin'.

My husband and I are pretty good at being supportive of the other's hobbies. However, if something gets overwhelming, we discuss it, and work out a compromise that we can both live with. None of this, "my way or the highway" stuff. Thankfully, your g/f does not seem to have given you that ultimatum, though :).

I'm with Cthulhu--3's a crowd. I think I'd prefer an even number. In this case, 2 pairs :).

well this is what im thinking.

since im super busy to many animals would kill me right now. BUT
if i get a mot baby of vic thats 4. THEN i can breed my butter stripe 1.0 to my ghost girl. Im not sure what the outcome will be BUT if its anything like normals/normal stripe het caramel, amel and ghost i'd be good! cause i'll just start keeping babies :)
the NO isnt definite but i can tell if would bother her if i bought more. Plus i already have lots of things on the go!

:)

It's not really whipped if you compromise. I made a similar compromise with my hubby...I'm allowed a pair for now (I have a beautiful little lavender boy, and just made arrangements for a normal het lavender/motley/amel girl to go with him).

I was able to sell him on letting me have a pair as opposed to one because it's a future breeding project/science. He loves science, and anything to get our daughter involved is good.

And you never know...they may grow on your gf. When my partner moved in with us, he had a red-tail boa. I'd never been around snakes before, and when he decided to give up the boa (it was getting a little too big at 6 feet), I begged for more. Hence the hatchlings ;)

I second the notion of a pretty little lavender. They are really quite beautiful.

I have a similar situation at my place. My fiance and I are living with my family for right now and my family is against reptiles period and my fiance is soooo afraid of snakes she ran out of the pet store the first time we went in when one moved towards her in its enclosure. I got her to come back in and hang on to me tightly and look around and we did and I asked for a little hatchling and she said "H**** NO!!!" Then, later that night she said that if it made me happy she would let me get one and try her best with it. I called my mom and got the okay with her surprisingly after an hour of convincing her the next day and then went back to the store with my fiance and we fell in love with spencer, my one and only for now. She told me that I was lucky to have a girl like her and I of course agreed and also agreed to have just this one and yesterday she agreed we could start getting her used to holding it as she now will pet it sometimes. lol. She also says I can get more once we are out of my moms hair. lol. So, give it time, she will probably come around. lol.
