Hi, I understand what you feed it.

But is it better to start a baby off on dead pinkies or live pinkies, and as it becomes and adult, do you switch?

Yep, dead, frozen then thawed is usually readily accepted by corn snakes.
It is far safer and then you do not have to worry about switching them over later.

What was your snake eating before you got it?
Whoever, wherever you got it from should be able to tell you:)

It was eating small pinkies, alive..

Live- more fun and fresh, but could eventually harm snake (Right?)
Dead- boring, safer...

can any1 elaborate.

If I did eventually switch, which switch is the easier one?

My feeding style is simple.

I tell my snake that every time he eats, he gets 10 points. He doesn't have to know what the points are used for, he just knows that more points are better.

I try to encourage him with key phrases like, "Did you hear? Johnny's snake has 40 more points than youdo!" and "You know daddy only loves you once you have over 100 points, right?"

Hey, it works for Visa and Mastercard.

Check this thread out too...
It saves tons of headaches in the what size should I feed my snake?!? department:)

For example, we were told to feed our first corn snake pinky mice for his first two years by the pet store employees:cry:!!!
Needless to say this forum was a lifesaver:D

I love everything about it.

I feed mine live/stunned mice. Just whack them really hard before feeding. Now it can't hurt the snake, but its still just as tasty to them.
