The first steps in disarming the USA

Not exactly. I don't believe the defense of ones property should allow lethal force to be used. If the person presents a clear danger to you and/or your family? All right then.

There's no need to get into all the different circumstances. It's a simple notion - your TV or car or stereo isn't worth killing a man.

I would kill him in half a heart beat! If a person is bold enough to break into my home, while any member of my family was asleep, I am NOT going to wait around to find out if he just intends to steal my TV, Stereo, Computer or Whatever or do something else. He is an obvious immediate threat to my family and I am well within my right to defend them and myself!

If the means happens to be lethal force, then so be it!

I don't see the danger in registering firearms and going through strict "screening processes" in order to own them.

Something that is already done in this country. It's called "NICS". (National Instant Check System) So if a check and balance is already in place, why do we need a registration?

I think many of the malls/schools/movie theaters shootings could be avoided that way (crazy people). Besides, if government was to decide to take your firearm away from you and violate the II Amendment, heck, they would do it anyway, now or when you are registered.

Do you know that Rape, Murder, Theft and multitude of other things are out lawed, but that doesn't seem to stop "loonies" from doing them! Do you know why?

Any person, hell bent on doing something, is going to do it, regardless of any law. At the point, that decision is made, in a persons mind, to break the law, I can guarantee that having a "gun registration" in effect, will not stop the event! There is always going to be a criminal element and an underground black market.

Yup! I consider myself a non violent person by nature, but I would absolutely use lethal force to defend a break in. Why should I wait until the last second, watching and waiting to see their intent, to decide how to act. If someone has the urge to rob my house, and I have the ability to defend myself, even by lethal force, you bet I'll use it.
Or we could wait for the person to take all of our possessions, hoping that they're just stealing and not a violent person, hope they leave, call the police who have little chance of catching them, and even smaller chance of retrieving the items back, then be scared of it happening again. Even if they get caught they'll be released in no time, and a message should be sent, when clearly nothing else works.

This is where I'm conflicted too. Clearly loonies have too easy an access to weapons, but what will more laws do. I would personally have no problem registering a weapon if it helped in any way to reduce the crime rate, but I just don't think it works that way. Crazy people do crazy things, and there isn't much that can be done except for upping the punishment for violent crimes.
I think people should have the right to bear arms, and I doubt that will ever change. The problem is that weapons nowadays are much more dangerous in large, and should be regulated to an extent. The problem is when the government steps on the toes of law abiding citizens, and takes away their right to protect themselves from the very danger they too are trying to stop.
