Lil, did you ever think of one of these electric fly-killers, you know, the lamps you can hang somewhere?
The flies get attracted by the blue light and fry on the surface. I don't know if these things make annoying noises, but perhaps they could help as they are non-toxic and not dangeous to other animals in the room - as long as you keep away your frogs from the light :D
 
My friend has an insect-o-cutor! I'd be worried about the kittens being attracted to one, and quite frankly don't think I could cope with the 'bzzzzt' of frying insects, it's really quite creepy, especially if a big moth or cranefly gets zapped!
