Reading posts i notice the humidity issue ocming up a lot, is this VITAL for corns as i wasn't informed about it and haven't done naything for it to my knowledge so can someone shed some light!

Hi Rachel

Humidity is not a huge concern with corns as it can be for some other species of snakes...if he's shedding whole skins your humidity is good. If you'd like to know, add a hygrometer (measures humidity) to your setup...you can find them at a plant shop...You can also mist your snake lightly once or twice each week,; that will help keep humidity up...peace and enjoy...Chris
 
Thanks for that but i don't need to worry then he shed on wednesday in one piece no probs so i guess i'm okay!

Humidity can be a real issue in a dry climate or in the winter monhs in a cold climate when the relative humidity goes very low. This can be addressed during the dry time of year by putting a damp hide in the vivarium whenever the snake is ready to shed. A damp hide has damp peat moss for the snake to moisten his skin in.

The big water bowl I have in my sweater boxes seems to cover humidity issues just fine, even in this super dry climate.
 
In regard to damp hides, with either peat moss or something like paper towels, is it reccomended to change the insides often at all? It gets rather dry here in the winter, so one of these might be useful.. :\

I read a post on these forums that advised changing inside, if it's paper atleast, every day

Other ways of helping...
My water bowl is made out of a strange plastic that lets water filter through, very slowly. I often find my corn underneath it during shed. And it seams to help a lot!
