Thanks, Sunnydelight, and also sincere thanks to all who have helped myself and Diamond Lil along the way. I hope not too many people have to resort to the lengths I did but if recording our troubles helps anyone in the same boat, that's a total bonus.

:eatsmiley Lil ignored totally her f/t peach today, so I caved in and let her have a live one. She constricted for the first time ever! I was so surprised I forgot to snap a photo

Love the pics of you on the show thread, Vanina!
Thank you kindly m'am but I think the second one is a horrible one of me :crying:
I saw something move in the corner of my eye and it startled me hence the cr*ppy face ... lol

Some updates on Lil; No weighing 'til next feeding, once a month only to control my obsession with her growth, but I think you'll see she is really growing. And I may have managed to really catch some green tones on camera this time, I hope. My feeder mice are producing well, in fact since I stopped using sawdust they seem to be making bigger litters of bigger babies, although the oldest 2 females are slowing down their production now, so they may be replaced soon. Lil took her food with no hesitation, but first I let her have a slither about on my bed.

Thanks Meg. She's a yearling now and it seems to be taking forever to see the green appearing. So far it's just the very outside edges of the saddles, while her pinks are staying very dark. With all the yellow coming along her throat she's going to be a colourful gal! Having never seen an adult pink and green snow I wasn't sure how she would develop, and the colours are really hard to catch on screen. (Now I know why I hadn't seen them!)

where's the blushing icon???? Thanks Vanina, I have to agree, but then I admit I'm biased! I'm sure I'd love her if she was pug-ugly, but she is really paying back every bit of effort. Her temperament is so calm and docile too, I feel I am lucky she got over my early mistakes and her bad start in life to turn out such a lovely snake.

Are you feeding her in or out of the cage. Is the pet store feeding her in or outside of the cage. IF the pet store is feeding her inside the cage, then what substrate are they feeding her on. She might be use to feeding on that type of substrate. The lighting or heating may also be different at the time that she is eating. I would try to get all the information from the pet shop about when and where she eats. I would try to simulate it as much as possible because she is probably use to that type of set up to eat in. If she is being fed outside of the cage, then what is she being fed in, how big is the container, and what else is in the container. Try to simulate this to get her to feel as comfortable as she feels in the pet store.

But thanks for trying to help, nhaislip.
Lil is well over her problems now, and the main reason I carry on with this saga on here is to show that huge difficulties can be overcome. I had excellent advice and support from on here. When I started I was convinced Lil would die, and wasn't sure if trying to keep her going was the humane thing to do.
If anything this thread is in whole a tribute to how helpful this forum's members are.

YAY!
We are all wonderful!!!!

This thread is getting a bit long to read all the way through now, I'm glad to say! If I hadn't had so much help, it would have been much shorter and sadder.
I try not to update too often now, because 'She's eating again' gets a bit too much, but I'll be weighing her next week, and then next month I'll have had her for a whole year!

Weighed my girlie last night, and if Murphy stays away I think we're well and truly out of the woods now. She's 86grams and her last 3 meals have been home-grown f/t that she's taken with no hesitation. Comparing the growth rate with all the other snakes, this seems to be a point where they really start packing on the grams, but even if she carries on steadily like this I'll be doing the happy dance every month!

Thanks Meg. She has repaid every bit of effort, and is a well-loved pet. I try not to get too emptional about it, but when I see the pictures of how skinny she got it still catches my breath.
