the saga continues........

Ah, this is her second live, successful, feed, if the mice keep making and stop eating their babies, we're on a roll!

LOL... I had a second look at the pics and on the first one it looks like she is pulling the pinky by the tail...LOL

she actually bit its foot a little bit! then i left her alone..........and ta-da! disappearing mouse trick

This is great! I'm so glad she is finally starting to eat. But alas, we are the syringe sisters no more...

How's it going now, Becky? I am hoping I never have to puree another mouse in my life.................but I still get to use plenty of syringes at work :grin01:

It's going great. Scarlett is now eating pinky bodies, the ones I cut the heads from when I was feeding just heads, and holding them down great. And leaving nice big (proportionally) poops. I've got three more bodies to use up, then she will be back on full size pinkies. I'm still taking it very slowly with her, though. I don't want to start the regurging cycle all over again.

Thank you for asking.

Janine and Becky: I'm glad to hear that things are working out so well. :cheers: Both of these cases looked pretty bleak early on.

Congratulations! My hat is off to you. I don't think I would have had the patience to go through what you've been through!

Jo

A tad graphic.........

The baby mice growing fast, so decided to give Lil a peach tonight, and finally saw what I've been waiting for since January, my baby eating like a champ;

A great big thankyou to everyone who has given support during Lil's problems. At the start of this saga I really wasn't sure if it would have been better to euthanise her, grieve and carry on with the other snakes. I'm sure in places where feeding live is more accepted and live pinks can be bought, she might have been easier to get re-started feeding, but the main thing is that she is healthy, growing and finally eating!
Thankyou for everyone who has helped, but I'm now going to bore you all with 'yay, she ate' every week (I hope)

Wont bore me at all, I look forward to the weekly post! that way we all know that Lil is still doing well! :cheers:

Me too! I'd be thrilled to see a yay she ate every week for months. Then the yay, she's grown 6" post and so on!

that won't bore me, I will be glad to hear that she is now going for it.... some pics would be nice too... :grin01:

Just weighed my little darling, 42grams!!!!!!!!! :cool: That's from 14g when I got her in December, the lowest point of 9g in feb, she gained while I was syringing her, lost 7g when I tried her on f/t last month, I weigh all the snakes once a month and make myself resist any in-between obsessive checking, this is the best surprise ever.
