Please someone, anyone give me some advice.Theo hatched in Aug14 we got him dec14 .He has settled well although still quite flighty when handled.Anyway last night (Wed) was feed night so this was the 12th pinkie he has had since being with us (2 a week one Sun one Wed)Theo didn't strike for pinky but he never really has.He has taken it from tongs a few times but seems to like it being left on kitchen roll.So this is how it went Theo took pinkie after about 10 minutes this is about normal for him. Nearly 24 hrs later we have found a browny gungee pinkie lying next to his water bowl.I must add when jo took the pinkie out he said it had hair .I looked and agree it had certainly started growing hair but not much so I assumed this was ok.We asked for pinkies in the pet shop surely this was ok or is it the problem?Where do I go from here do I miss a feed or carry on Sunday and the as normal???I'm so gutted everything seemed to be going so well temps are perfect hides in both ends and plenty coverage.Another query Theo is yet to shed since we got him unfortunately the pet shop only had feeding records and not shedding!!!! I have just 're written this as tried to add new thread and couldn't so just added onto an old post but no one was answering.Since writing this originally I called pet shop we got Theo in and asked if the hair on pinkie could have caused regurge they said no!!! ??? All other pinkies Theo has had have been totally bare just pink flesh but last one was with little hair but hair/fur nevertheless .I was advised by staff that it may be because I'm feeding him 2 pinkies a week she explained as they get older they don't need to be fed so frequently but Theo is still tiny although gaining weight nice and slowly .What have we done wrong any advice appreciated xxxxx thanks to Smigon for helping me again with site x

What is your snakes weight? And not one shed since August... That doesn't seen right to me. Ours has been shedding every 4-6 weeks since July when we got him. Hope you figure everything out.

OK, can't figure out how to edit my reply! I meant since December, but oh well! Our little dude shed in the beginning of January and he's getting ready to shed again.

Sun to wed is too close.... you have to wary it a little more... so if you do Sunday, he should be fed Thursday earliest... and then Monday, and then Friday... I did a similar mistake and fed one day too soon my female regurged partial of her food.

but the fact that he hasn't had a shed yet is a little scary.... You may want to consider to take the poor snakey to the vet or at least take a fecal sample.. <3

He is 13g a little on the small side but feeding never been an issue till now!!! Ok now I'm scared I thought regurge was main issue but it could be something underlying with shed, right? Poor Theo ill get him to a vet first thing Monday morning unless I should seek out emergency vet? What do you think x

Leave him be until Monday(unless a pro here says otherwise then listen to them)... if he just regurged you do not want to move him too much... Who did you get him from? a breeder or a pet store? if it is a pet store he may have a parasite that is making growing hard..

Keeping fingers crossed for you <3

If this site ever died from lack of funding I think many corn snakes would suffer. I think everyone here has changed at least a little something in their care of their snake(s) because they learned how to do something better.
