I've owned Kieran for almost seven years now and he's never, ever struck or coiled his prey... never. He wouldn't even take it out of my hand.... it would need to be placed in the center of his feeding tub and the lights dimmed before he would even show much interest in it.
Well, two weeks ago he came off a three month hunger strike and I only gave him an adult mouse (he normally gets a rat every 7 days)... well, apparently it was a poor excuse for a meal as last night, not only did he take it from me before I could put it down, but he immediately coiled around the rat pup! A first... dang, he was fast... Went straight for the throat... perhaps he thinks he's a vampire corn?
I only took the one picture as he was glaring at me... so I put the lid on and dimmed the lights for him
