thermostat/felxwatt ques

i have my bp's belly heat (flexwatt) connected to a herpstat. the herp stat is set at 91 and when i do mytemp checks using my IR temp gun it reads 85-87. should i crank the herpstat up a little bit until i get a 90 read on my IR?

Do BPs prefer higher temps? If so, then I would increase the stat until the temp in the viv is correct. I have to set my thermostat at 88* to achieve 84* in the tubs.

I think all proportional thermostats change somewhat with the ambient room temps anyway. I know I have played with mine a bunch and it goes from being to cool to very warm throughout the day and night. I would keep yours at 90 honestly. Sometimes it will be 90, other times 85, and sometimes 95, but none of those temps are extremely dangerous for a bp anyway. Anything over 95 is so why bother risking that?

thats probably why i'm aggravated. last night the temps were near 90 when i went to bed, this morning it was 83.

In the wild its never 1 stable temp anyway. The thermostat prevents it from getting too hot and doesn't allow harmful temp swings. You can always spend $200 on a helix thermostat, but honestly whats the point those temps really are fine:)
