I need to find a site that would have a cheap thermostat i could use. Ya...... i live in a cold yet hot region so i will need it badly. Thanks for your help

I know its cold up in your neck of the woods this morning,,about 34 degrees, right ???.Opening day of bow season for the southern zone.I WOULD be out there,,but my son has 2 hockey games and the wife had to work last night,,and I don't have my bow completely right yet,,so,,I guess I wouldn't be out there,no matter what

Ahh you got to go up by the candian borders to get the great deer and elk... man they are so good... oh well but anywho if you find anymore tell me. you guys are great. I already temped my uth and its 77 in the middle of the day and at night about 73

Those are max. and min. temps ??.Thats VERY low for a UTH.Most will go over a 100 when turned completely on.Maybe I missed something ??.

HOLY !#@# :sidestep: i read that the temps get higher and well apparently it was reading the air temp. I put my hand on the bottem of the glass and it was burning up. :eek1: Well i'm only useing lights till i get my thermostat

Oh yes,,they crank some heat.I have a Zoo-Med for a 30gal.,on a 30 gal.tank.When I put the digital thermometer on the glass bottom of the tank,,110.0,,now with the substrate on top, I get between 83-85 inside his warm hide.I know he just curls up in there, not trying to tunnel to the bottom of the tank,so the temps are good.I am using a dimmer set up for now.

Ya i might get a dimmer once i get some more cash. Man setups arn't cheap. Oh well its for the best of the snake. The lighting should provide more than enough for a while

Just because you haven't SEEN him burrow doesn't mean he doesn;t or won;t ever do it. 110 degrees is way too hot and will burn your snake when he does burrow down there. You need to set the under substrate temp to no more than 88 degrees

Not to worrier,,it's not 110 at glass level.I am using a dimmer set up for now,and have it turn down considerably. In his warm hide, which has aspen inside it,on top of the coco nut bark, the surface temp averages 84.He likes to curl up on the aspen. When I do flip up the hide to check on him,,he looks very comfy resting in his little "nest" :grin01: .
