thermostat probe & tub question

The lids don't fit tightly on the tubs. That little wire isn't going to make much if any more of a gap that isn't already there.

If you're talking about adult Corns, just drill a hole in the side of the tub big enough to fit the probe through.

What type of tub are you using? When I put my probe in my Sterlite 15Quart Latch Box, the cord fit in the spacing between just fine. To be safe I used some of those black paper clips to keep it snug as well. (The paper clips are like clothes pins kind of, except they're metal).

I don't have the tub yet or the snake for that matter. But I'm making plans for a baby corn. Thanks everybody for your help. Any other ideas?

Here is how mine are setup, hope it gives you some ideas (note: they're for my Young Corns):

Here is a picture of a Rack (incomplete in pic) I was building to fit the 15 Quarts, you can see how I put the probe inside:

The probe was kind of hanging in there, it isn't like that now as my current rack uses FlexxWatt Heat Tape and the probe is secured on that directly.

My corns haven't escaped this setup either, those black clips do a good job at keeping the space between the lid and tub secure.

Here is my current setup:

I was going to build it lidless, but the tubs would have a gap where the latches are, large enough for even an good side corn to escape... ...I'm purchasing a pro rack this summer though. My builds are crappy because I have no tools and I bought the wood pre-cut lol.

Hope this helped you get some ideas, good luck :).

I use Velcro to secure my tub, it has a locking lid and velcro all along the edges to close any gap a hatchling could possibly squeeze through. An adult corn would be more than strong enough to push open the tub lid with just the velco, so make sure its got a locking lid, but its worked well for me so far. No escapes for my two.
