Thermostat Question

Just got my Hydrofarm thermostat today. I dont want to ask the same question that has been answered many times but did not find a definite answer, so sorry if done before. Can I place the thermostat probe between the UTH and the bottom of the tank? So it would be UTH then probe, taped under the tank, not inside. Then use a digital infrared thermometer to measure temp. This way no wires comming out. Thanks

It's usually safer to have the Thermostat at the spot where the snake can get to. So inside of the tank is usually the best. That way you know for sure temps are proper.

We have the same thermostat and the probe is inside of a sterlite container near the heat source in the snake rack - it works great this way for us.

Hi!

Just got two baby extreme okeetees from SMR.

I just received this Thermostat in the mail and i'm getting ready to install it on my tanks.

I was wondering what is the best way to install the Probe on the bottom glass?

Thanks,

A dab of hot glue is the best way.

It's non-toxic, won't stick to them (like tape can), and pops off easily if you need it to.
