hey guys so im thinking bout tryin to make my own rack so i can add some brothers and sisters. im a lil short on cash (college sux) but i was looking at 34 qt sterilite boxes. would these be ok to house adult corns? and as far as the rack goes should i get seperate UTHs for each bin or would flexwatt be better? i have one UTH on the aquariam i have already and it works great! thanks for any help guys!

34qt is plenty big for adult corns. I am personally in the middle of building an adult rack system and I am using 28qt sterilite bins. I would use flexwatt heat tape because it is more economical. Its easy to use as long as you have knowledge in wiring. I personal haven't had any issues with that stuff. I have a 20$ light dimmer that controls the heat tape and been using it for almost a year with no issues. I would recommend that you buy a temp gun that you can check the temps regularly. Are you going to build the rack system so the lids are on the bins or off?

Rack building is fun! I graduated to bigger and bigger. I'm on the verge of building another rack to fit all the squiggly's in.

Here is the first rack I built. Very crude but effective:

I also built this one around the same time:

Then I graduated to this big boy, which I have modified a time or two. I used 4" flex-watt heat tape for heat, controlled by a thermostat. So far so good!

As I mentioned, I am in need of at least one more rack. My collection has risen to the 70ish specimen mark. I do have a few other racks that I haven't gotten pics of. The hatchling and adult racks.

That picture was right after I built it. I have since filled that rack and modified it to fit more snakes. It works good and looks good. I'm a proud papa for that one. Thanks!
