Hah Riverton, CA or Oracle, AZ??
I saw those pictures a few weeks back on one of those crazy picture sites. Very cool regardless.

Lies, lies, lies.....lol. Whoever said that date is full of crap. Those same exact images were sent around at LEAST 3 years ago. So far, they have been taken in 2 different countries and at least 6 different states. LOL.

Geez - those are old images. :)

Well, I don't know where that is, but it sure doesn't look like what I'd expect from Oracle. There should be loads of Saguaros in Oracle, and I don't see a one. The Tucson area (where Oracle is) is the lushest part of the Sonoran desert--that doesn't look like anything anywhere near Tucson. In fact, that doesn't even look like the scraggly part of the Sonoran around Phoenix. There are no cactus anywhere. I've not been anywhere in the U.S. part of the Sonoran that doesn't have a good number of cactus. Not to mention the absence of burrsage and brittlebush--the two most common non-cactus plants in the Sonoran desert.

He just said his friend sent them to him.

Regardless of when or where, I'd never want to stumble upon them. Reminds me of the old John Wayne movies when someone is always tossed into a rattler pit.

True. Same with the guy who posted them here a month ago. I was just saying that it's a cool photo. Would be nice to know who to give the actual credit to.

:laugh01: I always forget who that was!

I was looking over at snopes. Nothing there on this picture, but there sure are a lot of funny snake legends out there.

Well, no matter who/when/where, they are awesome photos! I would love to see/photograph something like that... but then I would mostly likely pee my pants and run the o:sidestep:
:grin01:

Um, i didnt know that these pics have been on the net for some while. When I saw them on my email I flipped out. I have never seen that many rattlers. Ive only seen 3 together but this is incredible. These pics came from one of my uncles friends saying that he took those near Oracle, Az. Not from me, I dont get this lucky ever lol. Now if this guy bs'd me or not, I dont know. But I never claimed these as my own findings. Sorry if you took it that way

Cheers

I don't care who took them or where they were taken...I would LOVE to stumble upon a pit of scutulatus. What an incredible thing to find!!

There is a denning site near me. I have not yet visited it, as I am not sure where, exactly, it is. But a friend has promised to show me. Apparently, the site near me is just loaded with Panamint Rattlers, just like the photos but not Mojaves, every spring and fall...

Personally, I would prefer to stumble upon them one at a time... with them laying under a bush and no hurry to go anywhere. Much easier to avoid that way... Crocodile Dundee, I ain't :)
