throat swelling again

Hi all. My 6 year old corn seems to go through a cycle of swelling in his throat. He seems happy enough but refuses feeds at this time. It usually last about two weeks and then he feeds fine again. Apart from the swelling he is active, drinking and as cuddley as usual.
Should I be concerned? He shred 3 weeks ago in his usual once every six week cycle and does'nt seem unwell at all.
He has seen a herp vet two years ago when he had fits, but blood work showed nothing and after a night at the vets under obs he was sent home with a clean bill of health.
Any information would be greatfully received by me and Talon. Cheers

What do you mean by fits?
And can you post pictures of the swelling? I've heard where people report swelling in the throat when snakes are about to shed. If I could see it I could tell you if it looked normal to me..

Also vaguely remember something about distilled water.. You aren't using it for his drinking are you? (Maybe someone can fill in the blanks on the distilled water risk...)

I can't remember the thing about distilled water either, but I remember the fits thing from last year. Someone from across the pond used that term, but I don't think anyone ever figured out what it was on this side.

Swelling before shed is the only thing I could think of that would cause that. If it's all the time though, I'd get it checked out.

re throat swelling

Hi, as I said it only lasts a short time so he is fine again. Next time it happens I'll post a picture. About two years ago Talon was not eating and was very quite. During the evening he started to jump, twist and writhe in pain and even bit himself. He collapsed and was rushed to the vet. We thought he was dead. The vet gave him a adrenialin jab and he picked right up. He stayed in over night and had bloods taken. They came back normal and he was sent home with a clean bill of health..thankfully he has been fine since. I do not give my snakes distilled water only tap water.
Thanks to all for replying.....

How odd! I wonder if he has some sort of neurological problem. Almost like a seizure....very weird.
